Kids Place Child CareKids Place Child Care is a year round program. Grades K-5 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Before and after school care available at your child’s school. Creative teachers provide learning opportunities that are exciting and relevant for every child. Kindergarten readiness activities promote children’s social-emotional development and learning in the core areas of literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. Regular communication from teachers and administrators through our Seesaw app helps keep parents in-the-know. Lead teachers offer 10-30 years of experience teaching 3-5 year-olds. Full Day Preschool at Central Year Before Kindergarten (YBK) 4 by Sept 1 Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. This cohort of classrooms is designed for children heading to kindergarten the next fall. We’ll spend the year getting ready for kindergarten by sharpening our skills in the core areas of literacy, mathematics, science and social studies. We’ll focus on building friendships and becoming more independent. Children need to be 4 years old by September 1 and toilet trained to attend. Children currently enrolled in one of the 33 mo to 5 year olds Kids Place rooms have the first option to move "up" to a YBK room the Fall that they are 4 by September 1. Any spots remaining are filled with new enrollments. 2026/2027 Kids Place Full Day Preschool Rates 2026/2027 Kids Place Non-Service Dates Applications are accepted year-round. Initial enrollment is approved on a space available basis. The children that are currently enrolled in Kids Place Preschool and turn 4 by Sept 1 are moved "up" into the YBK classrooms the next Fall first. Kyudo Japanese Longbow ArcheryFitnessInfluenced by the culture of Japan’s samurai warriors, Imperial Court, and Shinto and Buddhist traditions, Kyudo is practiced as a means to self-improvement. The non-competitive and introspective nature of Japanese archery allows practitioners to gain insight into their personalities. Individual instruction is given by John and Carly Born, both Renshi 5th dan. Lake City Lunch & Winona River CruiseTravel & ToursGuests will be picked up at Lenox Community Center at 9:15 a.m. and will travel by coach bus to Kelly's Lake House in Lake City with breathtaking views of Lake Pepin. Lunch Menu: Petite sirloin steak with potato, vegetable, roll, small dessert, coffee, tea or soda. After lunch leave Lake City and arrive at the Winona Levee boat dock to board the Winona Tour Boat and set off on a relaxing cruise along the Mississippi River. Enjoy up-close views of this iconic waterway as the captain shares fascinating stories and insights about the river’s history, navigation channel, and the many types of commerce that travel it today. Wildlife sightings are common and may include eagles, deer, turtles, beavers, and more. With windows all around, passengers enjoy excellent views from every seat. The cabin is enclosed and climate controlled for comfort, and the cruise is professionally guided and narrated by USCG-licensed captains. A restroom is available on board. Following the cruise, guests will depart Winona at approximately 3:15 p.m., with a comfort stop scheduled midway on the return trip to St. Louis Park. Starting SoonLearn How to Ride a BikeElementary After School Clubs/Classes"Learn how to ride a bike! In this class we will build the skills and confidence needed to get pedaling on 2 wheels. Goals: Have fun! Whatever happens, we want bicycles to be associated with a positive experience, so we put fun first, always. Get pedaling! Most students leave the course either confidently pedaling on their own, or very close to getting it. We do not guarantee that they will be pedaling by the end, but we will do our best to ensure they want to try again. Expectations: Participants come well fueled, rested, and ready to learn. Learning to ride for the first time takes a lot of strength and stamina. Let the instructors lead the class. We'll let you know when it's a good time to step in and support but parents and caregivers should be observing. What to bring: A safe, working bicycle - for learning to ride, the bike should be small enough that the rider's feet can be flat on the ground while they're seated on the saddle. We'll have some tools to make minor adjustments to the bike, but we won't be able to make significant repairs. A well fitting helmet - too tight, and the helmet wll be uncomfortable, too loose and it won't protect us in a crash. Here's a great guide if you're concerned about helmet fitment. MN Wind Chill Ultimate Frisbee CampYouth EnrichmentThe Minnesota Wind Chill, Minnesota's professional Ultimate Frisbee team, will introduce participants 6-14 years old to the non-contact action-packed sport of ultimate frisbee! These co-ed sessions will feature fun ultimate frisbee games, a variety of drills, and scrimmages. Participants will be split into groups based on experience, age and skill level.
