Video Production for Youtube6: July 20-23Learn how to create your own YouTube content in this hands-on camp! Students will practice shooting video, capturing sound, and developing an online presence. In the first half of camp, they’ll discover techniques filmmakers use for better shots, lighting, and audio, and practice editing with film software through a class project. In the second half, students will work together on an unboxing or product review video. They’ll edit their project, add transitions, special effects, and a soundtrack, then share their finished video. Students should have basic reading skills. Women's Self Defense WorkshopSpecial InterestThis self-defense seminar will help participants ages 13 and older gain the strategies and skill sets in order to protect themselves from attack situations that are common and unique to women. The students will acquire situational awareness, preemptive tactics, escape maneuvers, verbal interventions, physical techniques, and proficiency in the use of self-defense devices, in order to quickly and effectively end any assault. An emphasis will also be placed on the empowerment of the mind, which is critical to successfully prevailing in a dangerous encounter. Woodworking Camp5: July 13-16Build a picture frame, a race car, catapult and trophy display base. Builders will learn to measure, cut, sand, paint and then take home each project they build. This Youth Enrichment League (YEL) class educates students on the use of basic tools (hammers, nails, screwdriver, measuring tape, t-square and more). SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY.
