Stained Glass 101 - Copper Foil MethodArts & CraftsLearn the art of stained glass design and building with John Hanson, Owner of Longfellow Soap Company, who has been designing, making, repairing, and restoring antique stained glass for 24 years. All tools and materials will be provided and each student will take home a small panel. Safety glasses must be brought and used while cutting and grinding the glass. You will learn how to make, cut, and use patterns, cut and grind glass, tape your glass with copper foil, solder your glass, finish the edges with a zinc border, add rings for hanging, and clean the finished window. John is partnering with Potek Glass in NE Minneapolis to provide a beginner’s tool kit and has a great selection of products for your future projects. Tool kit is sold at Potek Glass store only. Class will run for two nights of 3 plus hours each. Limited to four students per class. Please wear closed toe shoes and long sleeved top. No fleece or sweaters that can catch glass as you cut and grind. You need to have sufficient hand strength to cut glass. Minimum age of 16.
