Beginning Knitting
Learn how to make basic knit stitches and how to read a pattern. You will complete a hat and learn how to make a square that can grow into a scarf, afghan, or whatever you want! Supplies needed for beginning knitting class:
- Yarn - buy at least 220 yards (200 meters) of worsted-weight yarn in a color you love.
- Needles
- Our hats will be made in the round without a seam. You will need:
- One 16-inch circular needle, size 7 (4.5 mm) or 8 (5.0 mm).
- 2) a set of double pointed needles (dpn's), size 7 (4.5 mm) or 8 (5.0 mm).
How do you know which size to get? As a general rule, if you are maybe a little tense, choose the larger size (higher number). More relaxed folks may prefer the smaller size.
If class is full, please enroll to be added to the waitlist. We will contact you if a space becomes available.
