We’ll provide all the supplies and plenty of summer-inspired prompts to spark your painting imagination. Sip on a refreshing (non-alcoholic) drink, enjoy some sweet treats, and paint at your own pace to a playlist full of sunny, feel-good tunes. This workshop is self-guided (no instructor).

Always wanted to learn to paint, but didn’t know where to start? Have you been looking for a community of supportive people to help you grow as an artist? Join this group of beginning and skilled painters to discover or enhance your style. Work in whatever medium you choose—acrylic, oil, watercolor or pastels—and learn the skills you need to enhance your art. Gain confidence in your ability to translate your subject to canvas as you strengthen your observational skills, and build a reliable process for planning and developing your voice. In this class, Instructor Suzi McCardle is available to demonstrate a variety of techniques using different mediums and offer one-on-one feedback of your work upon request. Time for you to focus on your creative process will be emphasized in this workshop. Basic art supplies are all you need. If you're unsure what medium you'd like to work in, just come to the first class! The instructor will help you decide. You’ll be able to use her materials to explore your interests, and she’ll help you build a personalized supply list based on what you enjoy.

Whether you want to embellish a new clothing item or visually mend something you found at the thrift store, come explore the wonderful world of wearable embroidery. Did you know that hand embroidery has been practiced around the world for centuries and includes over 300 different stitches? Join us for this introductory class where you'll learn 10 basic stitches including the Running, Chain, Back, Satin, French Knot and more. Leave class with a project to practice on and the confidence to tackle hand embroidery on your own. Bring a 6”or larger embroidery hoop and scissors. $5 supply fee paid to instructor.

Connect with your creative side in this no-experience-required art class with Jeremy Ross of Your Bearded Artist, who will guide you step-by-step through hand-knitting your own soft, cozy chunky blanket. No needles or knitting experience are needed, and all supplies are included. Each participant receives 140 yards (5 skeins) of size 7 chunky yarn (100% polyester) in a variety of colors to create a finished blanket measuring approximately 40 x 50 inches.

This is a great class for anyone who has a little experience sewing, even if it was a long time ago. Come dust off your skills (and your machine) and have some fun! You will work on a project of your choice. Lara specializes in making clothes, but can also help walk you through mending, making a tote bag, or making a zippered pouch. Please make sure to bring your sewing machine, at least 2 bobbins, at least 2 sewing machine needles, the power cord and foot pedal for your machine, thread, a seam ripper, and the manual for your machine. If you don’t have a manual, we may be able to find a downloadable version online. If your machine has extra feet or tools, make sure you have them ready, too. If you don’t have a machine, please contact the instructor before class for advice on how to find one.

Learn how to select the right leather, master cutting and stitching techniques, and finish your projects with a professional touch. Through guided instruction and practical exercises, you’ll create your own handcrafted leather items while gaining the confidence to continue your leathercraft journey. No prior experience needed—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! All tools and materials are included in the class fee

Bring your project or start a new one! We meet weekly to work on knitting, crocheting, felting and other needlecraft projects in community with each other. We donate items to support the Senior Program. This group is free to join - we hope to see you there! No registration needed!

Open craft time is a time to meet up with friends and work on your favorite projects! Bring your own materials, spend time crafting socializing.

This Open Woodshop is for all ranges of ability from beginner to advanced craftsmen. Lenox has a shop with a variety of power and hand tools for your use. Prerequisite: Previous woodworking experience. Pay at the door $2/day for members or $5/day for non-members. Please bring exact change, or check, payable to ISD 283 or register online on a monthly basis to use credit card. Open Woodshop is drop-in only; please pay at the door when you arrive.

Grab a partner and a paintbrush for this viral paint-your-partner experience! Sit across from each other and paint your partner’s portrait - no experience needed, just a sense of humor. End the class with a big reveal, lots of laughs, and a masterpiece you’ll never forget. Only one participant needs to register; the cost includes both participants and all painting materials.

Enjoy a fun evening out while creating a masterpiece together! Join us for Paint Your Partner, a relaxed painting class designed for couples. Registration includes childcare for ages 1–10, covering up to two children per couple (additional children $5 each). All painting supplies are provided—just bring your creativity and your partner for a night of laughter, art, and memories.

Learn the art of stained glass design and building with John Hanson, Owner of Longfellow Soap Company, who has been designing, making, repairing, and restoring antique stained glass for 24 years. All tools and materials will be provided and each student will take home a small panel. Safety glasses must be brought and used while cutting and grinding the glass. You will learn how to make, cut, and use patterns, cut and grind glass, tape your glass with copper foil, solder your glass, finish the edges with a zinc border, add rings for hanging, and clean the finished window. John is partnering with Potek Glass in NE Minneapolis to provide a beginner’s tool kit and has a great selection of products for your future projects. Tool kit is sold at Potek Glass store only. Class will run for two nights of 3 plus hours each. Limited to four students per class. Please wear closed toe shoes and long sleeved top. No fleece or sweaters that can catch glass as you cut and grind. You need to have sufficient hand strength to cut glass. Minimum age of 16. Paid adult with anyone under the age of 18. $30 material fee due to instructor on the first night of class.

Perfect for beginners or those with some experience, this class covers safe use of power tools like the table saw, miter saw, drill press, belt sander, electric drill and more. Work in pairs for personalized instruction and build your own birdhouse with provided materials. Sign up with a friend! A $5 materials fee (cash only) is due to the instructor at the start of class.
