October 2026 Early Childhood Screening

Screening is a free service required by the State of Minnesota for entrance into Kindergarten. The screening is most valuable soon after your child turns 3 years old. (3 1/2 to 4 years old is the ideal age)

Screening includes a vision, hearing, and developmental assessment, as well as an opportunity to discuss any family circumstance that you feel may affect your child’s learning readiness.
The screening will help identify any area your child may benefit from early childhood services before they enter school, and connect families with appropriate resources and programs.

Screening takes approximately one hour to complete.

Please Note: Screenings are being conducted inside Central Early Learning Center – 6300 Walker Street, St. Louis Park, MN. 55416. Please enter door # 3 on the west side of the building. Please check-in at the office.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete the required paperwork.  If you would like to print and complete the paperwork prior to the appointment, CLICK HERE to access forms.  There are several forms that are not on our website that will need to be completed at the appointment.

Note: If your child has already had a screening in a different school district, please call 952-928-6046. Please do not set-up an online appointment.

There is no charge for this screening but please complete the course checkout and receive a confirmation email to be enrolled in your Early Childhood Screening Appointment. Thank you!
