Lunch & Learn: Mental Health and Aging: Building Resilience and Enhancing Quality of Life

Mental health is an important part of overall well-being at every stage of life. This presentation will explore what mental health is, what happens in therapy, and how counseling can be a valuable tool for navigating life’s challenges and transitions. We’ll discuss the connection between mental and physical health, how emotional wellness can impact quality of life, and considerations that become increasingly important as we age. Participants will also learn about common experiences that can arise later in life—such as changes in identity and roles, health concerns, physical limitations, grief, and finding meaning in life’s experiences—and how therapy can provide support, insight, and practical coping strategies. This Lunch & Learn is sponsored and presented by Optum Behavioral Care.
